Daily bakeButter Croissant
72 hours of folding, baked at 6:30 am while the street is still quiet.
Little Fern is a neighborhood coffee shop & bakery on Fern Lane. We open early, pull small batches, and keep the window seat warm for whoever needs it.

Hours change with the season, but the croissants are always on by 7.

We bake in small trays. When a tray comes out, the radio turns up and the line gets a little longer — that's the best part of the morning.
Small rotations, seasonal fruit, and a baker who refuses to compromise on butter.

Soft brioche, swirled with Vietnamese cinnamon, finished with cream-cheese icing.
RotatesThis week: lemon-thyme with brown butter. Changes every Friday.
We took over the old bookbindery in 2021, kept the wood floors, and learned how to bake on the way.
Little Fern opened in the autumn of 2021 in a former bookbindery on Fern Lane. The first thing we bought was a refurbished espresso machine from a small roaster across the river. The second was a fern.
We open at 7 am most days. The pastries come out first, then the regulars — Dave the carpenter with his thermos, Mira with her sketchbook, the kids from the school across the street on Fridays.
Beans from Mountain Light Roasters, twelve blocks east. Flour from Camas Country Mill. Milk from a small dairy in the valley. We try to keep the truck route short.
You'll probably meet all of us in a single week.
